Baking Soda Dinosaurs Activity

At Meadow Park Preschool and Child Care Center, they did a fun activity with baking soda, dinosaur toys, and vinegar! The toy dinosaurs were hidden in a big pile of baking soda, and then the children revealed the dinosaurs by dripping vinegar on the baking soda, making it fizz until the dinos were free!

Materials needed for this activity

To do this activity you will need the following:

*Baking soda


*A cup to hold the vinegar

*Small plastic dinosaur toys

*A big bowl/tray

*Water droppers

How to do this activity

To do this activity you can follow these steps:

1. Put the dinosaur toys on your big bowl/tray.

2. Pour a bunch of baking soda over your dinosaur toys.

3. Have your students take the water droppers and use them to suck up the vinegar and then squirt it on the baking soda.

4. Watch as the baking soda fizzles away and reveals the dinosaur toys!
