At BrightPath Kids they encouraged their students to stack plastic cups! It not only was a fun activity that helped build motor skills, with a few additions they can have students working on their reading skills too!
How to do the Cup Stacking Activity
To do this cup stacking activity you just need some plastic cups you buy at the grocery store! Then you help your child stack them to make shapes like a pyramid. If you want to have your child also work on their reading skills, you can write a word on each cup with a marker so that your child needs to stack them in the correct order to make a sentence. For example, in the picture above there are various words that when put in order in the stack make phrases!
