Engineering Activity With Shaving Cream and Foam Blocks
At Little Seeds Children's Center, they did a fun engineering activity! The class imagined they were engineers who were creating buildings out of foam blocks. To help make the blocks stick together like real bricks the children utilized shaving cream as a sticky substance much like how actual bricks use concrete to make them stick together--thankfully the shaving cream could easily be washed away once the activity was done.
Materials needed for this activity
To do this engineering activity you will need the following:
*Foam blocks
*Shaving cream
*Paintbrushes to spread the shaving cream (optional, you can use your hands too)
How to do this activity
To do this engineering activity you can follow these steps:
1. Lay out your foam blocks and form a plan about how you want to build them.
2. Start building your foam blocks up and use the shaving cream to make sure all the blocks stick together well.
3. Keep building until your foam blocks are all built-up!
