Fun with garden fairies
Greetings!
To carry out this activity you will need the following:
Flower petals of different colors.
Leaves.
Tree branches
wooden sticks.
Stones (optional)
Snails (optional)
Seeds (optional)
Wiggles eyes (optional)
Images of fairies and elves that you can find online or draw your own. This time I used the activity sheets from Forestry Commission England.
Flower drawings or use real flowers for the fairy crown. The sheet used for this activity was from Education.com
To begin the activity, the first thing I did was read the book Backyard Fairies. The next thing I did was invite the children to search among the flowers and plants for the hidden fairy pictures that I placed in advance. Then we work on the fairy and elf sheets. On these sheets the children were invited to glue petals and other natural elements to create the clothes, wings and other parts of the fairies and elves. To finish we color pictures of flowers to create our fairy crowns.
