Intergalactic Shaving Cream and Paint Craft for Kids
At Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois, they had an intergalactic theme for the week. As a part of this theme they did a fun craft with shaving cream and paint that is super simple to do and turns out looking incredible! You can try it with your child/children too!
Materials Needed
To do this intergalactic shaving cream and paint craft you will need:
- Black and white construction paper
- Acrylic paint (in several colors)
- Shaving cream
- 3 containers (foil or plastic work well, any shallow container)
- A popsicle stick or spatula--anything good for spreading and smearing
- Glue stick
How to Do the Craft
To do the intergalactic shaving cream and paint craft follow these steps:
- Cut 3 different sized circle shapes from your white construction paper.
- Squirt shaving cream into the containers.
- Use your popsicle stick/spatula to spread the shaving cream all around.
- Squirt two or three different mixtures of paint onto the shaving cream in each container
- Press the construction paper circle into the mixture firmly, leave it for a minute, and then remove it.
- Glue your construction paper circle that now looks like a planet onto the black construction paper.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 with the other circles until they are glued upon the black construction paper and look like planets in space!
