At Joyful Learning Preschool they have been doing a fun educational segment every week where the class learns about various states and countries. For a recent week, everyone learned about our 50th state and one of only two that aren't connected to the rest of the Nation, Hawaii!
Singing about Hawaii
Miss Trina and her mom Serina, along with two students, came and talked to everyone about the state of Hawaii where the teacher had grown up! Everyone learned how to sing, "Head, shoulders, knees, and toes," in the Hawaiin language and did other fun things too!
Necklaces and culture
The class made lei necklaces and learned how everyone gives these to each other on May Day in Hawaii. They loved studying the texture of the necklaces. It was great fun learning all about Hawaii, its history, and its rich culture! The kids couldn't wait to hopefully visit someday!
