Lenten Promises Activity for Catholic Schools

At St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, they did an activity for Lent. Lent is the period of time between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday and is often observed by Catholics as a time to give up something they like. In the spirit of Lent, the children filled-out sheets with, "Lenten promises."

Making Lenten promises

The Catholic school students colored-in a piece of paper with the outline of a child to make it look like them and then filled in the blanks after three sentences:

"I will pray. "

"I will give up. "

"I will help others. "

The kids wrote when they will pray every day, what item they like that they will give up, and how they will help others. It was a clever activity and a handy one for a Catholic school to use as Catholics are known for observing lent.
