Making Paper Confetti, a Fine Motor Activity for Toddlers

At Waverly Road Child Care Center, they did a fun activity that helped their toddlers develop their fine motor skills. The children were given different sheets of construction paper to cut into the smallest pieces possible so that they were tiny and fine just like confetti. A variety of colors were used so that the kids could then mix them all together into a big bunch of confetti just like the kind used for a party!

Confetti-themed fun
You can do this activity with your younger students too so as to build-up their fine motor skills. Depending on the time of year you can adjust the colors of construction paper to fit a specific theme. For example, with Christmas coming up, you could use white for snow, and red and green as they are Christmas colors. You could use pink for Valentine's Day! Red, white, and blue for a patriotic holiday would work as well, there are many options of confetti to have the kids to make you can then use for holiday parties!
