Pumpkin Math and Matching Activity: Counting Seeds

Counting Pumpkin Seeds

Kreatywne Bliźniaki created this really neat activity that involves counting seeds in order to develop math skills and match one’s seeds with those on pictures of pumpkins. It is fun and when paired with the free printables it makes for a low-prep math activity that is without a doubt perfect for Fall!

You can use dried pumpkin seeds for this activity or painted beans (made white to look like pumpkin seeds) if that is easier! Simply take the blank template and give you students the seeds. Then present them with one of the pictures of a pumpkin with seeds in it and ask them to count-out enough seeds onto their blank pumpkin that everything matches. To do this they will need to count the seeds pictured and then also make sure they count-out the correct amount.

The pumpkins below feature an assortment of them with a number of seeds inside ranging from one to ten. Also, there is an empty/blank pumpkin for your students to put their seeds upon so as to match the other pumpkins!
