Salt and Water Coloured Pumpkins
First we mixed about 2 tbsp baking soda with a little water to make a paste.
Then our littles painted their pumpkins with this baking soda mixture until completely covered.
Then we mixed some vinegar with red food colouring and in another cup we mixed vinegar with yellow food colouring.
Using pippettes, our littles, slowly picked up the coloured vinegar and squeezed it onto the baking soda pumpkin.
They learned the art of squeezing to pick up liquid and then to release using fine motor skills and the pincer grip.
They also learn about colour mixing and they loved the effecrts of the vinegar and baking soda.
