The Aurora History Museum  in Aurora, Colorado, shared this fun activity they did with children at their garden-themed storytime! It involves using simple shapes to create little bugs and you can do it at home too!

Materials Needed for the Simple Shape Bug-Creating Craft Activity

To do this craft activity all you need is the following:

• A white sheet of paper
• A pen or marker
• Different colored pieces of paper precut into assorted simple shapes
• Glue

How to Do the Simple Shape Bug-Creating Craft Activity

To create your own simple shape bug via this craft activity follow these steps:

1. On your white piece of paper put legs for bugs and antenna in random spots with your pen/marker.
2. Start picking-out simple shapes and gluing them on the sheet near the legs so that they look like parts of bugs.
3. Continue until you've made an assortment of neat bugs out of various simple shapes!
