Skeleton Creation Teamwork-Focused Activity for Preschool Students

At Hickory House Preschool in Beaumont, California, the preschoolers were learning all about the human body.

One part of the body is our skeletal system, and to assist in learning the names of bones they worked as groups to build skeletons with pieces of white construction paper (the bones) on top of black construction paper. This activity required both critical thinking and teamwork as the students took the pieces of, "Bones," they were given and put them on the black construction paper to correctly to assemble their skeleton.

Learning About Bones Through a Fun Activity

The human body has many bones, and this activity assisted the students in learning some key ones, such as how we have bones in our feet, legs, hips, arms, torso, head, and basically throughout our whole self! Plus, by putting together their skeleton in a group, the kids could rely on one another to be sure they had the proper part where it went. The whole activity was fun!

Our students explore our amazing human skeletal system with real x-ray images at the light table.
