Space Theme to Learn About Space and Sky
I am an Early Headstart teacher and our theme this month is space and sky. So I turned my dramatic play into a spaceship.
I used things from home like keyboard, headset, car seat, posted space words and pictures of planets in the center. I also have a research lab where children can search things and explore. I also put items where the child can explore and build a shuttle.
My co-teacher make a rocket for the children to go inside and play with items we hung inside like the push light, mirror, tools and etc. We went on a nature walk to find rocks to put in our sensory table in the class. The sensory table is filled with moon sand and the rocks are hidden for the children to find an sort them by big or small.
The parents donate foil pants, cans lids and bottles for the children to use as space parts for the children to explore and build a rover.
