Stormy Clouds Painting Activity

Stormy Clouds Painting Activity With a Cotton Ball, a Fork, and a Clothespin. At Luisa's Child Care in Amarillo, Texas they came-up with this fun painting activity that involves using a cotton ball along with a fork to draw stormy rainclouds. You can do it at home with your child/children as well!

To do this painting activity you will need:

  • A piece of paper
  • Two small paper plates
  • Blue paint (tempera or acrylic works well)
  • A plastic fork
  • A clothespin
  • A cotton ball
  • White Glue
  • Green crayons or markers to draw the ground (optional)

How to Do the Stormy Clouds Painting Activity

Being the activity by gathering all your materials (like putting the paint and glue on their paper plates) and drawing the ground with green crayons or markers if desired upon the piece of paper

Attach the clothespin to the cotton ball.

While holding the clothespin dip it in the blue paint and then dab the blue paint all around the piece of paper.

While the blue paint is still wet, take the plastic fork and dip it in the glue, then drag it around the sheet--through the blue paint as well--creating the image of stormy clouds and rain.

Wait for everything to dry.

Display your art project proudly!
