At SHINE Christian Preschool they held an indoor picnic with real food and fun stuffed-animal friends! It was a great way to make lunch even more exciting and encouraged the practicing of pretending to share with the stuffed animals via dramatic play.
The Importance of Sharing
Sometimes young children do not want to share toys or food with others. By engaging in dramatic play where children pretend to share that can be a great step towards actually sharing things like toys and food with others. If you have your own picnic with stuffed animals you can work with your child to help encourage them to, “Share,” their food with their pretend friend and this will assist them as they grow in sharing with real-life friends and family as well!
