Thanksgiving Diguise a Turkey
Every year we do Disguise a Turkey. The kids bring home a printed turkey and disguise it any way they like. The disguise can be a cartoon character, public officer, superhero,etc. Children can use any materials available, such as; pompous, glitter, pipe cleaners, printed images, material, coffee filters, food items and anything else to fill and cover the Turkey. The printed image can be glued to a sturdy reinforcement if the materials are too heavy for standard paper. Reinforcement can be something like cardstock or even cardboard. The purpose of this craft is to disguise the turkey to prevent it from being eaten for Thanksgiving. We usually have a contest for the best disguised turkey. We have first, second and third place winners. Prizes can be something simple as a student gift, such as; a book or family prizes such as gift cards.
