The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

In class we sponge paintedthe body and then counting up the amount of circles. Adding two feet in for each body part and doubling the numbers. The children were very engaged and had a great time learning about doubling, soon after they were singing doubling songs together as well as the days of the week. The children used their fine motor skills to mark the legs and had fun with messy paint play creating the bodies. They then added in details like the antane and the coloured eyes. We also found a caterpillar on the playground and the children were able to see it in action scooting around on our truff tray. We gave it some leaves to eat and watched the process of it creating a coccoon.
