I have created this activity to bring fun to our reading. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a popular book among children and my son loves it too.
So to make reading more exciting, I used a printable, laminated it and cut it. I created a caterpillar out of an old Pringle chips box and decorated it with colored sheets, googly eyes and pom pom. I cut a slit in the center of it’s mouth to insert the food coins.
Now as i read the book, my son inserts the food coins into the caterpillar’s mouth which makes it more practical for him to understand the context and also helps in hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
