Tissue paper acorns
Using a pre printed acorn template children cut the acorn out, they paint the bottom part brown with either water color or tempera. The top part gets covered with glue and children add balled up brown tissue paper. This is a great project for children, especially those who are struggling with scissor skills, the acorn leaves a large space for children to cut. Assisting them with cutting, show them to not cut across the center of the acorn. The stem of the acorn can be difficult to cut, however this is a great opportunity to show children how to turn the paper to cut.
The brown tissue paper crumbling can be a great way to help build fine motor skills as well.
