V is for Vacuum Craft Activity for Preschool

Preschool teacher Miss Mikaliunas shared a fun craft activity she created that is fantastic to do when children are learning the alphabet! This craft is all about how the word, "Vacuum," starts with the letter V, and has children make their own vacuum out of construction paper!

Materials Needed for the Vacuum Craft

To do this craft you will need the following:

  • Three different colors of construction paper--two for the vacuum one for mounting
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers/Pens

How to Do the Vacuum Craft

To do the Vacuum craft you need to follow these steps:

  1. Cut a large oval and medium-sized semicircle out of one color of construction paper. These will be the main body of the vacuum.
  2. Cut two small circles out of another colored construction paper (these are the wheels). You can optionally cut a little handle out for the top of the vacuum or just draw that part and cut out any extra bits you want too.
  3. Glue the body of the vacuum onto the mounting construction paper.
  4. Glue the two wheels onto the vacuum (and the handle if you cut that out or any extra parts).
  5. Draw a face on your vacuum if you'd like, a power cord, or anything else you want to add!
  6. Write how, "V is for Vacuum," and you are done with this craft!
