Water Painting Activity for Toddlers

At BrightPath Kids they did a fun outdoor activity for their toddlers that was also a great way to cool down some--water painting! Real paint can be messy, but by letting toddlers fling water around with paintbrushes everything stays clean--it just gets a little wet.

Materials needed for water painting

To do water painting you just need:

  • Paintbrushes
  • A bowl filled with water
  • An area you don't mind getting wet--like a sidewalk

How to do water painting

To do water painting follow these steps:

  1. Fill your bowl with water.
  2. Bring your bowl and paintbrushes outside.
  3. Dip your paintbrushes in the water and then spread, dribble, and otherwise, "Paint," the area like a sidewalk!
  4. Once you're done you can even dump your bucket of water for even more fun!
