Istraživali smo kakva je voda u lokvi, potoku i izvoru. Djeca su s pipetama uzimala uzorke vode. Istraživali smo njuhom, vidom, trakicama. Djeca su došla do zaključka da je voda iz lokve (pronađena na prometnici) zagađena benzinom od auta i da u njoj nemogu obitavati životinje (punoglavci) jer bi se ugušili od smrada. Također, nakon 24 dati na bočici s vodom iz lokve se pojavio crni talog. Voda iz potoka i izvora je imala jednaki miris, ali voda sa izvora je na očigled bila bistrija.
Kako bi dokazali svoju tvrdnju da je voda iz lokve neupotrebljiva živim bićima, izveli smo pokus. U tri kanistera smo stavili vodu i korišteno motorno ulje. Djeci sam dala ptičja pera te su ih stavili u vodu. "Zamislite naše patkice u Lokvarci kako plivaju potokom i najednom su naišle na ulje od auta (jer je čovjek bacio ulje u vodu, a ne u reciklažno dvorište). Kakva su im pera, mogu li se očistiti, ako patka ne može plivati ili letjeti, hoće li preživjeti?.
