Collecting nature's materialsi
During our Animals theme, we had the activity making animal's habitat. Instead of using paper, playdough etc. I choose to use the nature's materials. The children were so excited. The chose the moss, leaves, branch, sticks, grass, and taking some soils from our school's backyard. We also even could observe the small animals like the marching ants, cicada, earthworm etc. They look curious and asked so many questions. So. It continues by collecting the information from the books and video.
Afterwards, the started to make their own insects' habitat. They created it according to their imagination.
This activity aims to make the children understand about animals' habitat, exploring using their five senses, fine motor skill by cutting, pinching, digging, etc, plus one kind of interesting outdoor activity.
