Farm Animal Products
I work at an After School Program and am in charge of creating activities for our educational and creative time. Last week we learned about animals. One day we talked about why we raise farm animals and what kind of products we get from them (meat, milk, eggs, wool, hides, etc.) The kids had to write or draw (we have a wide range of grades and reading levels) the products we get from each of the different animals pictured. We also talked about we make out of the products, such as cheese, ice cream, leather, etc. We also talked how different parts and animals are eaten in other countries and cultures, such as chicken feet in China. We also discussed what kind of animals we consider as pets and ones we use for food, like rabbits and guinea pigs.
