Making our own windmills
We made windmills from recycle products:
2 paper cups, a straw and foil.
The cut 1 of the cups into blade pieces and turn the other cup upside down.
We punched holes in the middle of each cup to insert the straw.
Then the covered everything with foil.
They loved this. Good for fine-motor skills as they are cutting, folding and tearing the foil into smaller pieces.
This was part of our Reading and Art project. We read about a boy who love windmills and wanted one made from wire.
They had to work in pairs to make it more challenging because our social skills are not that good any more.
At the end of the day, we displayed is in the hall. Well done Grade 1
