Gingerbread-Themed Activities for Toddlers
These gingerbread-themed activities are fantastic for toddlers. They utilize the shape of gingerbread men, cookies made of gingerbread, and the kind of ingredients found within gingerbread cookies! They did all of these activities at Little Leaders Learning Center in Miller Place, New York, and the students had a lot of fun!
Feeding Gingerbread Men Gumdrops
The students worked on their gross motor skills by taking pieces of craft paper they pretended were, "Gumdrops," which they then fed to a paper gingerbread man. The gingerbread man had a hole cut-out for his mouth so that the gumdrops could be put right in.
Gingerbread Man Play Doh
The kids put their fine motor skills to work by shaping their Play Doh into the shape of gingerbread men on some mats!
Letter-Writing
All of the children loved drawing in sugar (like the kind found in gingerbread cookies) to practice making the shapes of letters shown on little illustrated gingerbread men.
Gingbread Patterns
Everyone had a fun time making patterns of the assorted gingerbread designs!
