Letter h mosaics
We spent one day on each letter of the alphabet. Students learned tosign the letter and words starting with the letter in asl. We had one color page and one art activity for the letter of the day. For the letter h we mad paper mosaics using cut up pieces of construction paper. I printed both upper and lower case letter h and I placed the glue on the paper for the students. This is one of the students favorite activities and is a blast to watch them do. It is definitely a messy one which only makes students love it more. While they created the mosaics we took turns listing and signing the words we learned that started with that letter and tried to find objects in the classroom as well that started with the letter h, like the horse in our zoo animal set and the hat in the dress up bin or the hamburger in the home center. The children and I both had a blast. It’s definitely a activity we will be repeating in the future.
