Name-Painting Activity For Young Children
At Jireh Learning Center they had a great deal of fun painting their names with a variety of bright colors! It was a stellar craft for learning the letters that make up their names and enjoying painting.
Materials Needed for the Name-Painting Activity
To do this activity you will need the following items:
- Permanent marker
- Paint (acrylic and tempera works well)
- Paintbrush
- Paper
- Paper plate to hold blots of paint for painting
How to Do the Name-Painting Activity
To do this name-painting activity follow these steps:
- Use the permanent marker to write your child's name in big letters.
- Have your child paint each letter of their name one-by-one with whatever paint colors they would like.
- While your child is painting, discuss the letters being painted and what they are--for example, "The second letter in your name is an, 'a,' and do you know what the next letter is?"
- Once all the letters are painted wait for the paint to dry and display the creation!
