Rocket Ship Boxes Activity for Young Children
At Learning Years Day School - Hawthorn Farms in Hillsboro, Oregon they had an assortment of shipping boxes available and were deciding what they should do with them.
The class decided it might be fun to build rocket ships out of the boxes and worked together to build-up the rocketships as well as cu out holes so they could get inside the rockets! Then, the class painted extra shipping paper to create fiery rocket exhausted and painted the rocket itself fun and exciting colors. You can do this with your young children and students as well!
Materials Needed for the Rocket Ship Boxes Activity
To do this activity you will need:
- Shipping boxes of assorted sizes
- Shipping paper
- Paintbrushes
- Tempera paint of various colors
- Scissors
- Tape
How to do the Rocket Ship Boxes Activity
Follow these steps for this activity:
Help the students stack the boxes however they like to create a rocket.
Tape the boxes in place so the rocket is stable.
Cut a hole in the rocket so the children can go inside
Paint the shipping paper and rocket desired colors.
Tape the shipping paper to the rocket.
Make sure all the paint is dry and enjoy the rocket!
