Shape Sorting Activity With Everyday Objects for Toddlers
At Marlboro Jewish Center (@MJC_Preschool) in New Jersey they came-up with this fun shape-sorting activity that helps children see the shapes of items in everyday objects!
How to Do the Shape Sorting Activity
In order to do this shape sorting activity follow these steps:
- Get some painter's tape (it is safe to put on the floor)
- Make shapes with the painter's tape that have a big space inside for items to be put in them.
- Gather household items, toys, anything that looks like certain shapes.
- Put all the items in a pile and help your toddler with identifying what shape each object looks like.
- Have your toddler put the items within the correct shape after they identify them.
- Repeat until you have sorted everything!
