Toddler-Safe Sensory Bin Activity Idea
At Early Explorers Preschool, they did a toddler-safe sensory bin! It was great fun and avoided any kind of choking hazards.
Key Elements of a Toddler-Safe Sensory Bin
To make your sensory bin specifically toddler-safe it is important to do certain things:
- Make sure any of the filler-items that are small enough to swallow are edible and not a choking hazard--sprinkles, dry beans, and so forth.
- Have large items for scooping, dumping, and filling that are not a choking hazard.
- Closely supervise the toddlers using the sensory bin and clean anything they do chew on.
How to Enjoy Your Toddler-Safe Sensory Bin
To enjoy your toddler-safe sensory bin follow these steps:
- Fill your bin with the safe-to-ingest filler items.
- Add the larger toy items for scooping, dumping, and filling.
- Take away and clean anything that gets chewed or mouthed on and clean it.
- Have fun!
