Trying Out This DIY Brushing of Teeth with my Learners with Special Needs
We are tackling about how to maintain a healthy mouth by brushing our teeth. I found this DIY activity with less mess and fun to do and a very effective simulation of brushing our teeth. They loved it so much and made them easily understand and comprehend how to properly remove the dirt, cavities and bad odor of our teeth.
We have discussed as well the importance of eating healthy foods. The benefits we get from the healthy foods we eat. Aside from that, since it is very difficult to refrain from eating so much sweets and junk foods as well as sweet and soft drinks so as a teacher I educated them and informed them that it is okay and normal as long as it is all in moderation and of course they should not forget to always clean their teeth after everything that they have taken especially sweets and junks.
