Wild flower wrist bands

Wild flower wrist bands

We gave each child a wristband of sticky tape (stuck so the sticky side faced outwards). We ensured that the tape was not too tight. Older children could tear strips of masking tape themselves for this. We then took the children on a nature walk and allowed them to pick natural materials e.g.leaves, daisies, fallen petals and stick them to their bands. The children were encouraged to look for interesting shapes and colours and to talk about the natural materials they found. Additional tape wristbands could be added as the first one became full. After our walk we enjoyed comparing our beautiful creations with our friends and talked about our nature walk discoveries with our families at home time.
