Working with Our Emotions with the Monster Color
The 5 year-old students created with paint a large banner to help the Monster sorts his emotions
First, we read the book and I explained to the children how to put each emotion in real glass jars that I brought to class. Then we had a debate about the Monster and him being a mess and we proposed doing the mural with paint.
I prepared circles of different sizes and I draw the Monster and the little girl. The children painted with stamps each back-side page. Once dry, we cut the circles. Then the glued crumpled tissue paper of the different colors needed (red, pink, yellow, blue, green, black).
Once finished we assembled each panel together in a large horizontal banner, we labelled in English each colors.
The children are learning English in Poland and some are very fluent others just beginners.
They enjoyed the project and they like to look at it in the corridor when they walk along.
