You don't need to lecture to teach. Learning can be through fun
Sorry I can't add pictures at this time. School has not started yet and deleted all of last years.
My idea of learning is not from the books, that is where you get the lesson from. Real learning is through hands on. On National Duck day, I have numbers on the bottom of ducks throughout the room. They have to find two and add the numbers together.
When talking about the sun and shadows, we took paper and items outside to trace shadows. We also played shadow tag.
I also have centers that are fun and they are learning. I do make sure they are working and learned the skill needed. Once they were learning a skill we hadn't even talked about. They were to roll two dice, add the numbers together. Then make them into ones and tens. Roll dice and see who will get to top of sight word column first.
