Aquarium Craft for Young Students

When children are learning about the animals that live in the seas and oceans one great way to further establish what has been learned is to make an aquarium craft that simulates fish swimming in the ocean! This, "Volumetric Aquarium," is fun to make and looks great once it is completed too!

Materials Needed for the Aquarium Craft

  • Assorted watercolor paints
  • Pieces of paper
  • paint
  • brush
  • Black and yellow construction paper (used as fish eyes)
  • Glue
  • Scissors

How to Do the Aquarium Craft

First paint one entire sheet of paper with blue, this will be the ocean.Once the paint dries cut strips out of the paper so that it looks like waves in the ocean.

Paint other pieces of paper with an assortment of colors.

Once this paint dries cut the shapes of fish out of the paper along with longer pieces that represent algae and circles that represent pebbles.

Glue the eyes onto the fishes.

Begin gluing the fish, algae, and pebbles onto the ocean-scene paper. Use a modeling board if needed to help hold everything in place while gluing.

The Aquarium craft is done!
