Cardboard Gingerbread House

At The Goddard School in Hockessin, Delaware, the PreK class used the cardboard boxes from the last delivery to the school in a very clever way. They created their very own gingerbread house!

The students spent some of the time during morning centers the previous day helping assemble the house. Then, they decorated it with lights, assorted pieces of construction paper, plus wrapping paper, and they used cotton balls too! The only limit was their creativity!

Make a Cardboard Gingerbread House with Your Class!

You can make a cardboard gingerbread house with your own class very easily. All you need is a lot of leftover cardboard, which is something schools often have thanks to a large number of deliveries they get of everything from office supplies to furniture.

Your students can help assemble the cardboard however they like into a gingerbread house-style shape and then they can decorate it with whatever arts & crafts supplies are available. It is a wonderful DIY activity for sure!
