Craft Activities for Preschoolers Themed for Books by Dr. Seuss

At Shepherd’s Fold Daycare Pre-K 4 & 5 they enjoyed reading an assortment of Dr. Seuss books throughout the week and did crafts themed for each of the five books they read!

The Cat in the Hat

The students made pictures of the Things from the book as well as the Cat in the Hat with their handprints. Plus, they glued and painted Popsicle sticks to make a hat like the Cat in the Hat they wrote their names upon!

Horton Hears a Who

This craft also used handprints, but this time in order to create a picture of Horton the elephant!

Put Me in the Zoo

Here they made the animal out of a paper plate along with crayons, stickers, and ears made out of construction paper.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

To do this craft, the kids created, "Fish," out of their handprints!

Green Eggs and Ham

The last craft was done with food! Pretzels with sweet goodies on top created the appearance of green eggs and ham that everyone then enjoyed eating!
