Flour-Tracing Art Activity to Do At Home With Your Children

The students at Jack and Jill Preschool in Banstead, UK are currently at home due to recent World events. However, their teacher recorded a fun video of a flour-tracing activity they can do at home--and you can do in the house with your children too!

Materials Needed

To do this activity you will need the following:

  • Pen or markers
  • Pieces of paper
  • FlourTray

How to do the Flour-Tracing Art Activity

First, take the pieces of paper and use the pen/markers to draw different letters, shapes, numbers, and patterns you will want to be copied in the flour.Pour the flour into the tray.

Give your child a couple of minutes to trace their fingers in the flour and become familiar with it.

Show them a piece of paper with a number, letter, shape, or pattern and ask them to copy it in the flour.

Once they have filled the flour with the design have them shake the tray to, "Reset," the flour.

Show them another piece of paper and repeat the copying until they have done all the designs you made on the papers.

Once all the designs have been copied you can let your child play with the flour until they are done, then dispose of it properly.
