Germ Crafting Activity for Young Children
At Wiz Kids Learning Center in Brooklyn, New York, they learned how germs are, "Icky," and can make us sick.
The class discussed ways to avoid and get rid of germs (such as via washing our hands) and did a fun crafting activity where they imagined their own types of germs they named and decorated!
Creating Germs
The kids cut out pieces of colorful construction paper along with black pieces and white pieces to serve as their germ's mouth and teeth along with their arms and legs. Then they glued googly eyes on their germ as well in addition to bits of colorful string to create a colorful and complex germ that was as neat to look at as it was possibly yucky if it were to ever be real! The students gave their germs different names and it was reiterated how washing our hands is a fantastic way to combat germs.
