5 Lorax-Themed Crafts to do When Discussing Dr. Seuss
At South Shore Children’s Center of West Islip, Inc. in Islip, New York, the class had been discussing the works of Dr. Seuss. One quite famous book by Dr. Seuss is, "The Lorax."
The Lorax is famous for how he tries to help protect the environment, and he is very striking in his appearance due to his shape and bright orange color! The students at South Shore Children's Center did five different crafts relating to the Lorax as a part of their unit on Dr. Seuss, here they are!
Looking like the Lorax
This craft had students make a version of the Lorax that was very long so they could paste-on a picture of them looking like the Lorax with his big bushy mustache!
Helping Like the Lorax
For this craft, students made a version of the Lorax on a rectangular piece of construction paper and then wrote down what they do to try and make the World a better place.
Lorax Painting
To do this craft students painted a version of the Lorax with paint! They all made such great-looking Loraxes!
Lorax Counting
The focus of this craft was for each student to make a Lorax out of construction paper (a bit like other crafts, but then also have numbers by the Lorax so that the children could count-up how many Loraxes there were total.
Lorax and Fishes
For the last craft the class did, they incorporated another Dr. Seuss book, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish," and put their versions of the Lorax they made out of construction paper with their work making fish out of their handprints!
