Apples Week: A Fun, Seasonal Theme For Preschool and Kindergarten Students
This week, apples provided a seasonal and fun theme in all Academy classes.
At Giggles & Wiggles Academy (East Brunswick, New Jersey) we use traditional and not so traditional themes (or topics) to teach. Our students benefit from the connections we make across our curriculum, so we take a topic of interest and build from there.
This week, apples provided a seasonal and fun theme in all our classes!
Here is a closer look on how they made the entire week engaging for students.
Apple Math Activities
They were able to make math fun and relatable to apples all week-long. Students had the opportunity to play a number of games that involved simple math to participate in.
They provide cardboard cutouts of apples with the numbers 1-10 displayed on them for a simple display.
Apple Science
An apple is a very intriguing piece of fruit for a lot of students. They went through a few basic science-related experiments to catch the attention of students. Preschool and kindergarten kids will love learning about the fruit by identifying it using their different senses.
Apple Art & Craft
This was the time during the week they allowed all children to show off their creativity. All they did was offer some simple instructions in the beginning, and then allowed each student to have flexibility on what they wanted to do to make their apple-related projects come to life.
