Building Animal Dens
During our Arctic Animal Week, the students used biodegradable packing peanuts( must be biodegradable for that to stick together) from Amazon to build arctic animal dens. You need a small paper plate, glue stick and printable arctic animals. I wet a few paper towels and placed them on a tray. Don’t get it too wet or it will start to dissolve, I demonstrated this and it was like an extra science activity. I also wet a few packing peanuts to show how they stick to the plate.I drew a half circle on the paper plate as a guide and then they wet their packing peanuts and started building! Once they were done they picked a arctic animal or two and glued them in the den.
