Caterpillar Math Activity for Kids
Kimberley Potts (@kimpotts11) shared this delightful math activity that involves counting-out fuzzy balls to make caterpillars before gluing them together with googly eyes as well! You can do it at home too.
Materials Needed for the Caterpillar Math Activity
To do this activity you will need:
- A container to hold the small fuzzy balls
- Small fuzzy balls
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Tweezers to help grab the fuzzy balls (optional)
How to Do the Caterpillar Math Activity
To do this caterpillar math activity follow these steps:
- Discuss with your child how you are going to count-out the fuzzy balls to make caterpillars.
- Tell your child a number and have them count out the correct number of fuzzy balls.
- Help your toddler glue the balls together and then glue some googly eyes on them so they look like a little caterpillar.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you've made a bunch of caterpillars with different numbers of fuzzy balls for their body!
