Cinco de Mayo Crafts
At Storybook Preschool they learned the history of Cinco De Mayo and did some fun crafts for the holiday! Everyone learned how Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla where the Mexican army defeated the French during the U.S. Civil War on May 5, 1862. The battle was fought in Puebla, Mexico. Once the French retreated, a celebration ensued and Cinco de Mayo was born! As a part of this celebration, the kiddos made some neat crafts!
Fantastic crafts
The children made maracas out of toy eggs filled with shaker items and plastic spoons with painter's tape holding everything together. The kids also painted paper sombreros and made some impressively colorful designs. It was great fun learning about Cinco de Mayo!
