Crayon Constellation Drawing Activity for Preschool Students
At Crossroads Elementary Preschool in Mount Washington, Kentucky, Ms. Buck's class had a unit focused on learning about things in the sky.
With that in mind, the children created constellations by using their fine motor skills to draw lines with white crayons on black construction paper, using star stickers to represent the stars seen in constellations.
Materials Needed for this Constellation Drawing Activity
To do this constellation drawing activity you will need the following items:
- White crayons
- Black construction paper
- Star-shaped stickers
Doing the Constellation Drawing Activity
To do this constellation drawing activity students can either base their creations off of real-life constellations that are popular such as the Big Dipper or Orion. They also can make their own imaginary constellations where they draw an object or animal and then use the star stickers to signify the key points of the constellations--just like real ones! It is up to you how you want the students to do the project, but either way is fun and educational!
