Fall playdoh fun
We made homemade playdoh using lots of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon, along with orange food coloring.
The kids helped mix and stir and knead the dough.
Then we set out trays with lots of different materials:
buttons
beads
cinnamon sticks
pumpkin seeds
plastic knives
corn
The kids get to play with it once a week during the entire month of October and they will actually play with it for an hour straight. They made pumpkins, trees, snowmen, and so many other things!
Recipe:
2 cups plain flour (all purpose)
2 tablespoons baby oil
1/2 cup salt.
2 tablespoons cream of tartar.
1 to 1.5 cups boiling water (adding in increments until it feels just right)
food colouring (optional)
Spices to make it smell amazing!
Mix dry ingredients, add baby oil and mix really well.
Add food coloring to water then slowly add water.
Mix super well.
As it cools, knead well until it is ready to play with.
I store this in a ziplock bag inside another ziplock bag. It's held up really well.
