Fire Safety for Preschoolers/Dramatic Play
This was for our dramatic pIay center. The kids had lots of fund with it. I made the burning building out of a tri fold poster. I just painted the outside part so it would fold over like a building. The fire hydrant was from a box top and pool noodle. I put blue ribbon at the end to resemble water.
We took turns letting the kids put the 'fire' out with the hydrant.
Painting the burning building was probably the most tedious. Having the paint the bricks and keep the lines pretty straight was a bit of a task but I was able to use a yard stick for most of them.
The fire hydrant was pretty simple, you just needed to make sure you do not make the hole in the box too big or the pool noodle will fall out. I also reinforced the noodle in the box with masking tape on the back Side of it.
I freehanded the hydrant on the box. It does not need to be perfect. Your kids will love it either way!
