Hot&Cold - Memory game and sorting worksheet
This activity is meant for English-as-a-second-language students and has been successfully tested with various age groups ranging from 2 to 9 years old.
First Step: Print, cut, and laminate two copies of the cards to create a memory game. This will help students learn the names of the items.
Second Step: After they are familiar with the new vocabulary, use the sorting worksheet to explain how to differentiate hot and cold items. I recommend laminating all of the parts and adding Velcro dots to the main sheet and the cards. Very young learners seem to love the sensory thrill of ripping out and sticking back the Velcro.
