Interacting with 1st Letter in name

I teach the young preschool class and everything is an introduction! We were interacting with the 1st letters in our names and discovering that everyone has a different first letter. Fine motor skills with squeezing glue bottles, pinching marshmallows and scooping rice was an added bonus! Getting to choose what color paper to have the teachers write our 1st letter on reinforced learning our colors. Using the different textures and size of collage materials also added to sensory discovery! The last learning objective that I had with this project was following and listening to directions! They couldn’t eat the marshmallows…but of course got to eat 3 after they were done with their letter! The very best part of this activity was getting messy!
